Jeanne Nimmo - Quilt for Shauna
Machine pieced and machine quilted. This quilt is for my 18 year old grand-daughter to keep her warm at Barrarat University. Shauna chose the fabrics and colours, but I like them as well. The quilt is so different to anything I have made before. While cleaning out a cupboard recently I found some of Shauna's Art work 1997-1998 circa so I used one as a label and the other I stitched on the back for fun.

Yvonne Phillips - Double Wedding Ring
I have always admired and wanted to make a double wedding ring design quilt and when my son announced that he was getting married, it gave me the perfect excuse to purchase the right coloured fabrics (not enough in my stash!) and enroll in a class at the Stitching Post in Beaumaris. That was in Feb 2007 plenty of time I thought to complete it for an October wedding. After hand piecing 994 pieces together and attaching the centres the top was completed 3 weeks before the wedding date. I still had to hand quilt it so a promise was made to finish it for the 1st anniversary. After hand quilting my own design and sewing on 7 metres of binding it is finally ready for the 2nd anniversary. I'm sure glad that Elizabeth persuaded me to make a double bed size instead of a queen size as I had originally intended to make.
