Gabrielle Barclay - Tic Tac Toe
Class at Lily Patches in Boronia. Lots of tiny squares needed to be rotary cut in preparation - After all the cutting was done, I didn't want to ever see a rotary cutter again! The class was a lot of fun, I learned new techniques. Very effective for only 3 different fabrics. Machine pieced and quilted on my Janome.

Gabrielle Barclay - Dragon Quilt
The original panel was bought at a Phillip Island retreat several years ago when my grandson was born. At this years Retreat I decided may it should be made. As the panel was not square, I purposely tried to give it that 'crazy' shape. Hopefully Oscar will love the very bright colours. I hope so. He is now four and a half. I must have confused my 'forest fairy' with brights on my machine.

Kerry Eustace - Four Seasons Pink Work
Designer: Leesa Chandler. I had many hours of relaxing sewing to complete this quilt. I loved the oriental feel of the embroideries. I was orginally going to do them as place mats but eventually decided to make the quilt. I am quite pleased with the eventually completed quilt.

Rivka Waxman - Haunted Hill
I've never bought a kit before, but when I saw this one in a 'Keepsake Quilting' catalogue a couple of years ago, I just had to have it. I've just got around to making it up. Last Holloween, I had over 40 Trick or Treaters call!. Word has obviously got out there is a sucker living at 21! You'd think I'd be trying to deter them not attract them!.

Ann Kilby - A Friendship quilt
This quilt was made way before I knew anything about quilting and will never win any prizes but it is filled with many memories. In 1996 this quilt was made by the children in my Prep/1/2 class at Oakwood Park Primary School along with a group of children from Noble Park Special Development School who would visit and share some of our learning each week. The children had lots of fun making it and snuggling under it for story time. At the end of the year it was hung in the parent's meeting room and over the years the children would pass by it and comment on their block. Later I moved to another school and lost track of the quilt. At the end of 2008 I was invited to a gathering to mark the closure of the school. The time capsule was opened and all the school memorabilia was on display. I asked what was to happen to everything and I was told I could take the quilt home that evening ...which I did complete with 12 years of dust. When I made it, not knowing anything better, it was sparsely held together with buttons. In the open I quilted around each block before it was washed. Searching through class photos, I have been able to identify the creator of each block. Now the quilt sits on the bed my grandchildren use for sleepovers. I'm not sure that the rest of the family are as sentimental about the quilt as I am but for me it holds lots of memories of a great group of children in a lovely school that is sadly being demolished to make way for an estate of town houses. I

Nola Gibson - Double Delight
Pieced and quilted by Nola Gibson. I was NOT one of the many people who followed along when Bonnie Hunter did this as a mystery quilt on her 'Quiltville' website. I saw some of the finished quilts that were done and thought the design was a good one for using up a lot of small scraps I had. I didn't use her directions and I made the quilt over about 5 weeks. A mystery quilt without the mystery.
